Coach B’s 2022 Reflection & 2023 Goals

Personally looking back…

If I had to sum up 2022 in one sentence:

It was the year that broke down my defenses, exposed my most destructive mindsets, and pruned away so many things that I clung to, while also filling me up with the things that light my heart on fire: seeing people I love + respect reach new goals while breaking through their own destructive mindsets, deeper relationships with my husband, close friends, and family, and gained clarity, perspective, purpose on SO many things.

It was a good year. It was a HARD year. It was an intentional and intimately emotional year (which is a big deal for a VERY logic-driven person such as myself). It was a challenging, enlightening, encouraging, terrifying, and freeing year…all at the same time.

I tried a lot of new things this year, and reached a lot of personal goals:

  • I tried therapy for the first time.

  • I dove into holistic/integrative/functional medicine for the first time and got to  experience a full year close to remission from my autoimmune diseases.

  • I pivoted and did a lot of new things with my business.

  • I coached new people in new ways, as I added Habit + Behavior Coaching to my coaching practice.

  • I began talking to other companies, health clinics, and professionals about collaborating towards the bigger vision we have for LET.

  • I went to new places.

  • I met new people.

  •  We adopted another puppy and started our dream of breeding/training labs (YAY!!)

  • We started growing our little homesteading operation.

  • I tried dreaming + being optimistic (this is a very BIG deal).

  • I learned a lot of things on the family ranch and got to pet a lot of baby cows (YAY)

  • I tried trusting + waiting well on some BIG prayers (...still a work in progress)

  • I can officially say I’ve reached a pivotal point in my relationship with food, my relationship with my body, and with my relationship with movement, and just with my overall confidence in who I am as a person.

  • I’m healthier than I may have ever been physically and mentally- which after 11 years of chronic illness is a VERY big deal.

All in all, 2022 will go down in history as one of those pivotal years packed full of core memories and pivotal moments in who I am and where I am headed. It was, what we call in psychology, a year of “awakening.” Awakening seasons are essentially processes in which we kind of “come to reality” and begin to see things (emotions, thoughts, behaviors, life events, responses we have, patterns we hold, people in our lives, etc) as they ARE, rather than what we have been trained to see them as. We begin to experience our thoughts and feelings without wallowing in self-judgment, and are able to more clearly and accurately view our relationship with the world around us. For me, this looked like gaining a whole new perspective on WHY I am building LET in the first place, why I have the health habits I have, why and how I have certain mindsets I want to break, and why I struggle with things like anxiety. It is a lot to take in. And all of it demands action. So while I am currently in the overwhelming process of making sense of these “awakened” perspectives on things, I am excitedly looking forward to unpacking all 2022 has brought as we dive into the year ahead.

Professionally (on behalf of LET) looking back…

If I had to sum up 2022 for LET in one sentence:

It was our “learning to walk” year, and we may have started out shaky, but we are ending the year at a steady-paced power walk towards our 2023 goals.

Up until the start of 2022, we were slowly adding on services and working to build out our Holistic Health Coaching Practice methods, services, systems, and brand. 2022 was really the first year that I got to operate as a true Health Coach who specializes in Behavior change. It was the first REAL year I got to combine the three things I am most passionate about- exercise science, nutrition, and human behavior- in a comprehensive coaching practice and REALLY help people change their lives. Sure, being a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach up until this point has helped me help a lot of people… but Behavior Change is the secret sauce. Learning to understand our behaviors and build the skills it takes to CHANGE our behaviors is where the MAGIC happens. This was the first year that we got a really clear glimpse at where LET is headed, and it was the year we got to sit back and cheer on our clients like never before as we were able to better serve, teach, and guide our people towards the lives and results they want.

It was a good year. It was a challenging year. It was a GROWTH year. In the lives of my clients, it was a year full of hard conversations, joyful breakthroughs, “AHA!” moments, broadened perspectives, conquering destructive mindsets, and  the births of healing mindsets. It was a year of “pivots” and “shifts” and self-discovery. It was a year full of big and little “wins.” All-in-all…2022 was pretty good ;)

Our primary goal going into this year was:

Live out our mission of helping our people create lifestyles that empower them to  craft the foundational healthy lifestyles they need, while reaching the body composition goals they want.

We did that better than we ever had this year, and we’re aiming to do it even better in 2023. Now we are READY for a fresh start in the form of a new year and some new goals. SO LET’S DIVE IN!!

Looking ahead…

My intentions for this year:

As a company:

  • Confidently step into our “story brand” as a company. May you recognize, know, and trust LET as a powerhouse for helping you OWN your Limited Edition Life while reaching the body composition goals you want.

  • Improve our 1:1 Coaching services: In 2023 we are making some adjustments to the customer service behind our Holistic Health Coaching, we will be doing a better job of communicating + marketing our Health Consulting Services, and we will be launching our next-best-thing to 1:1 coaching in the spring that will help us serve more people in a more personalized way.

  • Connect, partner, and collaborate with other professionals, businesses, and practitioners who share our values, mission, and vision for Holistic Health.

Personally:

  • GET CRAZY STRONG and crazy intentional/strategic with my nutrition and training.

  • Pass my Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Exam in order to join the top-tiered Strength Coaches who have earned the gold-standard credential in Strength Training.

  • Overcome some of the mindsets I have around nutrition, movement, and habits, so I can confidently and comfortably end 2023 1% mentally more healthy and strong.

If you have been around here at all, you probably are reading those “intentions” and are hearing my voice in your ear saying “intentions are great, but a goal without a plan for HOW to accomplish the goal is just a WISH.”

And that is exactly right! We don’t want to just wish these things into being.

We have a plan for HOW to make. them. happen.

So if you are curious about HOW we plan to execute these things and make these goals reality, you will just have to join in on the fun and experience the “how” part with us!
