Is LET right for you?

Not every coach is right for every client. Our main desire as Health Coaches is to help you find the next-right-thing for your needs and goals. We created this blog to help you further identify if LET is the right place for you to find guidance and community around your health efforts. To that effect, LET might be right for you if…

1.You believe nutrition, movement, and your daily habits are incredibly important for your health and quality of life.

These 3 things- nutrition, movement, and habits- make up LET's three lifestyle pillars. Within those three topics, we especially emphasize the 6 Fundamentals of Health: nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, hydration, and community. We believe these 6 Fundamentals summarize the most crucial, behavior-focused areas of our lifestyles and health. By optimizing our habits in each of these areas, we believe we can craft lifestyles that cultivate health for years to come. If this sounds like you, we want to welcome you to LET! Even if the things below don't fit you right now, we hope that if you value movement, nutrition, and healthy habits that you will stick around and join us in our efforts to empower others to take control of their health and create lifestyles they love.

If the qualities below sound like you or what you're wanting for your life, we think LET might just be where you finally find the community and support you've been looking for. Keep reading!

2. You believe your habits around nutrition, movement, hydration, stress management, sleep, and your community (social interactions/home environment) are crucial components of your health.

Your habits reveal your priorities, and your habits compose your lifestyle. By prioritizing healthy habits in these areas of life, we can craft a lifestyle that is a first line of defense against disease, promote healthy aging, and create sustainable habits that serve us in all areas of life, for the rest of our lives. If this sounds like what you're looking for, keep reading.

3. You don’t believe in diets, and are ready and willing to learn what your individualized nutrition needs are, and/or heal your relationship with food.

Nutrition is bio-individual. Meaning, what you need nutritionally will be different than anyone else. The decades worth of research and evidence support that while you may eat the same way as your identical twin, you may be absorbing things differently, have different energy needs, and have different nutritional needs than they do. To this effect, LET does not believe in one-size-fits-all approaches to nutrition. While we are living in a post- Diet Culture world, our aim is to help you break free of the lies and become empowered and skilled enough to take your nutrition into your own hands.

Everything we preach on nutrition at LET is rooted in the nutrition fundamentals. We believe in food freedom. We believe in food being enjoyable. We believe food is a cultural, emotional, physical, and mental experience and that it was designed to be a joyful AND healthy part of life. We believe not all foods are created equal, but that all foods can be a part of your lifestyle and you still be healthy and reach your goals. If this sounds like what you want for your life, keep reading.

4. You understand the importance of resistance training and are willing and able to work on moving your body intentionally and in a way that is best for your health, body, and goals.

Our bodies are INCREDIBLE powerhouses designed to move well, move often, and move unlike any other creature on earth. They were designed to withstand force, be strong, and do incredible things. Scientifically, the research and evidence supports that our bodies operate best when we have a healthy body composition and are moving well, often, and in ways that challenge us physically.

In today's world, MOST people have some form of musculoskeletal imbalance and/or don't live a lifestyle that includes enough of the right types of physical activity to maintain muscle mass and support a healthy body composition long term. Regularly being exposed to movement that puts gravitational demands on our muscles, bones, and joints is necessary to help us maintain muscle mass and delay the rapid aging process. For most people, the most practical way to support a healthy body is to include resistance training in their routine.

For more information on what qualifies as true resistance training, please see this article.

5. You have a student mindset.

Not only does life-long learning support healthy cognitive aging, help prevent neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, and improve quality of life, but it keeps us open to new ways to better our lifestyles on a daily basis. Coaching implies "collaborating" with an expert on a certain matter to make changes. In order to get the most out of your coaching experience or even the many other resources we provide at LET, we encourage you to embrace a student mindset- always looking for things to learn and ways to optimize your life. If you're willing to take on the challenge to always be learning, keep reading.

6. You are ready to take responsibility for your actions and work to achieve your goals.

If you're reading this, the odds are you've read somewhere that we strongly believe that YOU are the expert on your own life. As coaches- collaborating with you to achieve YOUR goals- we aim to empower you to take action and make your goals become reality. If you're ready to take your health into your own hands and take action daily to see your goals to fruition, welcome to LET!

If you made it to this point and are still reading, we would be honored if you set up a Complimentary Consultation with us to discuss your goals further! You can inquire about that here, and Coach Brenna will be in touch shortly. If you’re unsure about coaching and want to take some more time to consider other options, we totally get it!
