About Habit Coaching: What to expect as an LET client
Habit Coaching is a fancy way of saying that you will be collaborating with a trained professional to change current habits, break existing habits, or create new habits. As a Holistic Health Coaching client at LET- whether you are talking about exercise, nutrition, or any of the other 6 Fundamentals of Health- your time spent with your coach will be focused on the habit-sized pieces of your personal health puzzle. Here is what you need to know about Habit Coaching at LET:
Habit Coaching is *relatively* new to the fitness/nutrition coaching space. However, it is long overdue for coaches and medical professionals to be trained on how to actually help people make LASTING changes to their health. LET is trying to close that gap in the industry.
I (Brenna Kennedy- owner of LET and lead coach) entered the Health Industry professionally as soon as I turned 16. On top of that, I originally went to college to become a Dietitian. However, a year shy of being done with my degree, I became increasingly conflicted over what my role as a Dietitian would be and my personal desire to walk alongside people in the life change process.
Now please know, we believe Dietitians are a VITAL part of medical care and the work they do is priceless. It is not uncommon for me to refer out to Dietitians when needed. For me personally, working in hospitals and clinics just did not appeal to me as much as walking through the day-to-day joys and challenges of working on a more personal level with the people I served. Not only that, but I see a MASSIVE gap in the coaching sector of the industry when it comes to coaches being trained on what it actually takes to make lasting behavior changes. It is our goal at LET to begin to fill that gap and come alongside people to help them achieve true life change.
2. Brenna Kennedy is a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach with a Behavior Change Specialization. In addition to this, she has extensive education in Sport and Nutrition Psychology. Her heart for taking a behavior-based approach comes from a place of wanting all people to learn to trust their bodies, understand how their mental and emotional states affect their physical body, and recognize the power their daily habits have.
As a Holistic Health company, we often talk about how much we believe all parts of the body are intimately connected. We strongly believe our physical, mental, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being matters equally when it comes to pursuing holistic health. Understanding how emotions (that cannot be controlled), influence our thoughts (which CAN be controlled), and how those two things produce our behaviors (habits) is the critical skill needed to pursue lasting behavior change. Brenna is trained to help you create healthy habits and skills necessary to help you take care of your health in a holistic way.
3. Habit Coaching is simply a fancy way for describing the process of collaborating with your coach over your habits.

4. All 1-on-1 coaching services as LET will be structured from a behavior (or “habit”)- based approach.

Because our habits are the building blocks for our health, at LET we set big goals and break them into habit-sized actions. By building healthy habits around movement, nutrition, and the other 6 Fundamentals of health, we truly believe most goals can be achieved without getting fancier than the basics.
